Background and development of Inspiring IAG
Inspiring IAG is a nationally validated careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) quality award.
The award not only enables organisations to be recognised for good quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, but to also assists in meeting legislation, preparing for inspection and providing a better service to young people.
Inspiring IAG was one of the first awards in the country to be nationally validated by The Quality in Careers Standard (QiCS) which is the overarching national standard that endorses CEIAG quality awards meeting the national validation criteria.
It was originally developed by the Greater Manchester Connexions Service Providers and is now managed through a partnership of the 10 local authorities in Greater Manchester. Since gaining national recognition many parts in the country are selecting Inspiring IAG as their preferred CEIAG quality award.
The award is strategically managed by the Inspiring IAG Management Group and is coordinated by a Project Manager. It is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects and meets national developments and legislation.
The Award made me really think about provision, identify any gaps and how and what we needed to do to address this.
